Our
Projects
In education, arts play an important part. It can describe one's creativity and talents, not involving in exactly how one's art should be. In Secondary Education Academy, we create unique art pieces to further understand arts.

In Secondary Education Academy, we use the arts to inquire into issues of teaching and learning. To do this, we keep a sketchbook that documents our journey through the program and our internships. The sketchbook is a place to draw, visualize, write about, and imagine the type of teacher I’d like to one day become. We also use the sketchbook to explore and think about my beliefs, my emerging teaching philosophy, and my theories of practice. In this section, you will find four examples of sketchbook pieces I did this year.
Doodle Page
Doodling is a way some students stay focused in class and take some form of notes. Our SEA class were assigned to practice this for a week, see how it made us feel and see what comes out of it. I had finished my page within a day, so I started drawing over things. This project opened my eyes to doodling and now I love it.

Through the eyes of Nature
This art piece was about choosing something outside to draw and, to take a picture through your eyes. We where told to take 30 minutes outside adn just draw something we see, and I drew my tree house.

I need something to do in class
This Project took a month or so, because I was working on it while listening to the lessons. This was just a repetitive action that helped me to keep my hands busy and help my mind not wonder. Dr. Broderick said that it turned out beautiful and she was very happy that I was learning and implementing one of her methods.

Comments from the class
These comments from my classmates, on my art, are art themselves. The love and care put into putting constructive comments my art is beautiful. It truly shows how anything can be beautifully in the eyes of the beholder.
